Oral health rated well by most Australians, but dependent on socioeconomic status
Adults were asked to rate their oral health in the 2008 National Dental Telephone Interview Survey (NDTIS). In a report called Self-rated oral health of adults the AIHW Dental Statistics and Research Unit examines their responses by various demographics including age, sex, education and private dental insurance status. When asked ‘How do you rate your oral health?’ over 65% of Australians responded ‘good’ or ‘very good’ and 11% as ‘excellent’, but 21% rated their oral health as ‘fair’ or ‘poor’. An interesting reading.
