Search PubMed & get the full text on your handheld

Click on this link to Pubmed for Handhelds. When it opens in your browser save it to your home sceen or to your bookmarks. It works fine on the iPhone and iPad. I didn't test it on androids or Blackberry but it should work on those platforms too. You can do a PICO search or a natural language search also knowns as google type search, or a Medline/PubMed search. It automatically invokes the familiar Unikey login screen so even if you are not connected via the Usyd wireless network you would still be able to get to the fulltext.

Free DOI lookup

If you have bibliographic data for a item and would like to find the DOI, or if you only have an article title and author or the text of a bibliographic reference, try CrossRef for individual DOI retrieval. CrossRef is a collaborative reference linking service that functions as a sort of digital switchboard. It holds no full text content, but rather effects linkages through CrossRef Digital Object Identifiers (CrossRef DOI), which are tagged to article metadata supplied by the participating publishers. The end result is an efficient, scalable linking system through which a researcher can click on a reference citation in a journal and access the cited article.
